SAPICI Announces Investments in Italy and China
VARESE, Italy - Propelled by continued business success and a growing global customer base, SAPICI is investing in the company’s plants in Italy and China.
The multimillion-euro investment is aimed at expanding the aliphatic derivative product range the company manufacturers at facilities in San Cipriano Po, Italy, and developing the production capacity of its facility in Zhuhai, China. The investments in China are aimed at improving the company’s ability to provide its customer base in China and Asia with a wider portfolio of locally manufactured, specialty and tailor-made products and services.
The investment in the production of isocyanic prepolymers and hardeners for coating and adhesives will allow the manufacturing plants in Italy and China to produce a wider range of specialty and customized products.
SAPICI has developed extensive in-house engineering know-how that allows it to design and run its large manufacturing plants while maintaining the necessary flexibility in terms of production range and volumes. At the completion of the announced investments, the company’s plant in San Cipriano Po will be able to synthetize 100 percent solid content products as well as prepare customized dilutions and derivatives for every sector and coating need, including wood, coil, automotive, and others. By enlarging its isocyanic prepolymers and hardeners manufacturing capabilities in Zhuhai, the company will enhance its customized offering and level of service to clients in the region. SAPICI’s specialty products offering in China and Asia is currently sourced from Italy.
This new large investment in Italy and China will expand SAPICI's product range and the company's ability to develop, manufacture and commercialize low free-monomer isocyanate prepolymers for special applications. SAPICI plans to significantly increase its participation in international projects for the development of innovative polyurethane-based solutions in various applications and industries, including aerospace.
The company anticipates that its customers will be able to benefit from the enhanced capabilities and flexibility made available by the investment before the end of 2014.
