MOLINE, IL  – The Valspar Corp., Minneapolis, has been selected as the recipient of a John Deere supplier innovation award for 2013. The award is presented to a select group of suppliers who have demonstrated innovation in a product or service they provide to John Deere.

Award selections are based on four factors – creativity, feasibility, collaboration and bottom-line impact. John Deere created the supplier innovation awards in 2010 to promote innovation in the company’s supply base and recognize suppliers who think creatively. Valspar was recognized for its recent breakthrough development in powder coatings – Valspar Valde® ECP.  Valspar Valde ECP is a two-coat powder coating system that delivers superior edge corrosion resistance but only requires one trip through the cure oven. The net impact is a lean and low-cost mechanism to deliver the corrosion performance required by the heavy machinery industry.

Valspar has provided heavy-duty performance coatings to John Deere around the globe for more than 65 years. Valspar employees accepted the recognition during formal ceremonies held on February 18, 2014 in Moline, IL.
