Markes International Merges Mass Spectrometry Division
LLANTRISANT, UK - Markes International, Llantrisant, UK, has fully integrated its mass spectrometry division, ALMSCO International, into its core business operations. This process, which was initiated in September 2013, is now complete, with all ALMSCO-branded products now fully under the Markes International banner.
Markes’ time-of-flight mass spectrometry (the BenchTOF™ range) and software products were originally launched under the ALMSCO brand in order to ensure that Markes’ reputation as a supplier of analytical thermal desorption instrumentation didn’t limit the potential and scope of these technologies.
The company announced that as the user base of ALMSCO products has widened, major performance and productivity advantages have been realized by combining Markes’ technologies for thermal desorption and time-of-flight mass spectrometry.
“Analytical laboratories are increasingly looking for a range of capabilities for trace organic work. Responding to this, we’ve found that many of our customers can benefit from the versatility, automation and concentrating power of thermal desorption, combined with the full-spectral sensitivity of BenchTOF.
“Bringing our ALMSCO products fully under the banner of Markes International makes it easier for us to deliver our expertise across all our technologies, for example through our recently re-launched website,” said Markes Managing Director Alun Cole.
Markes International manufactures specialist analytical instrumentation for trace organic analysis.In January 2013, Markes became part of the Mulheim-based German family business Schauenburg International Group. It has technical support centers in the UK, the United States and Germany.
