Covestro received the highest possible grade A in four out of 10 categories. Covestro's overall score makes it one of 24% of companies in the chemical industry peer group that received such a rating, and rates it higher than the average for this group, which is B-.

Based on data reported through CDP’s 2022 Climate Change questionnaire, Hempel is recognized for addressing the environmental impacts of its business and ensuring good environmental management. Manufacturers of paints and coatings can now reduce their carbon footprint, every day, by using a liquid product recovery (often called 'pigging') technology, according to a new report from independent sustainability and energy consultancy Carbon-Zero.

The benefits of replacing paint lines with paint film systems have been recognized earlier, but difficult to implement due to the infrastructure for traditional paint already in place. Now, with new plants being built to manufacture electric vehicles and greater emphasis on sustainability, paint film systems are becoming more realistic alternatives to paint lines.

The report, titled Sustainability in the Global Paint & Coatings Industry, emphasizes the critical role coatings and the global industry play in contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as framed by nine specific SDGs where industry can have the greatest impact.
