ANGUS Chemical Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of
The Dow Chemical Company, announced that its Sterlington, LA, manufacturing
site has been awarded the prestigious Lantern Award by Louisiana Economic Development
(LED) and the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association (LIDEA).
The
NPCA’s Chairman of the Board Charles E. Bunch, chairman and CEO of PPG
Industries, Inc., received the Business Citizen medal from the Friends of Adam
Smith (FOAS) as one of its 2007 Adam Smith Award winners.
The Missouri and New Jersey
Supreme Courts issued rulings with a straightforward and unambiguous result:
public nuisance causes of action by municipalities seeking damages for
ill-maintained dwellings, from historical manufacturers of ordinary and
necessary products, are declared terminated.
On June 5th at a meeting of the National
Classification Committee (NCC) of the National Motor Freight Traffic
Association (NMFTA), the committee docketed a proposal to change the
classification of paint and related materials at a higher freight rate based on
density.
