Jack Wickham, Ace Hardware Corp.’s Vice President of Manufacturing for its Ace Paint Division and Chair of the PaintCare® Board of Directors, received the George Baugh Heckel Award.
At the American Coatings Conference, which took place May 7-9 in Indianapolis, more than 1,000 attendees learned about the most recent research results and industrial developments in 16 thematically structured sessions.
The conference portion of this week’s event wrapped up Wednesday afternoon, with sessions on Epoxy Coatings, Waterborne Systems, Smart and Functional Coatings, and Novel Materials.
Bio-based coatings are covered in a number of papers at the Conference. One such paper was by Senthilkumar Rengasamy from Eastern Michigan University, titled Surface Modification of Green Coatings with Smart Non-Polar Binders.
Dr. Rathindra DasGupta of the National Science Foundation (NSF) delivered the second keynote address yesterday at the conference, titled Accelerating Discovery to Innovation.
Kent Young of Sherwin-Williams (SW) and Lee Orr of the United Soybean Board co-delivered the first keynote address at the American Coatings Conference, titled Bio-Based Coatings Technology: Collaborative Research With Supply-Chain Partners.
