Waterborne coatings are no longer an exotic technology. They have become a common method to protect surfaces, especially for architectural indoor coatings waterborne have experienced a high growth rate. Rising concerns about the environment and VOC legislation in many countries have resulted in the replacement of many solventborne systems with waterborne systems. The European Coatings Conference "Waterborne coatings” will highlight the latest advances from relevant areas of chemistry that address the special needs of these coatings in different industries. International representatives from both industry and academia will present their latest research results.
Topics to be covered are:
- Nanoparticles as non covalent x linkers for PUD
- The choice of silicone slip additives and an informed choice for the formulator
- High performing formulation additives for waterborne paints and coatings
- Recent developments in the use of Benzoate low VOC coalescents in latex architectural paint
Short course
Included in the conference is a 2-hour short course that will convey the principles of waterborne PU-coatings. Lecturer will be Christoph Irle, Bayer MaterialScience, Germany
