Cal Poly’s winter short course on polymers and coatings brings together academic and industrial experts in the field. The one-week course covers many aspects of coating technology with emphasis on liquid coatings, both waterborne and solvent-based. Participants benefit from discussions of VOC and air quality aspects of coatings by experts in both industry and government regulatory agencies.
A Workshop on Uncertainty in the Coatings Industry will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 from 5:30pm – 7:00pm. Sponsored by ASTM Committee D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials, and Applications, the workshop will be held at the Hyatt Regency Houston in Houston, TX, in conjunction with the January standards development meetings of the committee.
Celebrating 40 years, WOC is the industry’s only annual international event dedicated to the commercial concrete and masonry construction industries showcasing leading industry suppliers. WOC features innovative tools, construction machinery, construction equipment, safety training courses and training, technologies and unlimited networking opportunities to give you new ways to sustain and grow your business. World of Concrete is considered by many to be one of the top shows in the industry. The outdoor exhibit areas, including the hugely popular Artistry in Decorative Concrete, make World of Concrete THE event to attend in 2014.
Provide industrial scientists and engineers with an intensive, interactive workshop on the fundamental aspects of latex film formation. The removal of water from latex based coatings causes the particles to pack together, deform and coalesce in distinctive steps in order to form a cohesive film with good properties.
Whether you're involved in the processing of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, foods or any of the other process industries, The 2013 CHEM SHOW is the go-to event to find new innovations for every process application.
Waterborne coatings are no longer an exotic technology. They have become a common method to protect surfaces, especially for architectural indoor coatings waterborne have experienced a high growth rate. Rising concerns about the environment and VOC legislation in many countries have resulted in the replacement of many solventborne systems with waterborne systems. The European Coatings Conference "Waterborne coatings” will highlight the latest advances from relevant areas of chemistry that address the special needs of these coatings in different industries. International representatives from both industry and academia will present their latest research results.
This course provides an introduction to paint technology. It explains why paints are used and from what they are made. Other aspects include manufacture and application, testing and performance. A commercial overview of the major markets is also included. Read More
