CARY, NC - LORD Corp. is celebrating 90 years in business. Initially employing a staff of only six, LORD continues to grow with more than 3,000 employees in 26 countries.

A series of global celebrations marking the anniversary concluded at LORD Corp.’s world headquarters in Cary, NC. Officers visited the company’s U.S. and international locations to celebrate this milestone in the company’s evolution and service to customers.

The company was founded in 1924 when patent attorney Hugh Lord invented a solution to quiet squeaking automobiles that traveled in front of his office on the streets of Erie, PA. Over time, the company entered markets of many industries, expanded globally and acquired new technologies.

“This year marks a milestone of innovation and collaboration thanks to the ideas of those who came before us, and the innovative and collaborative spirit of those who continue to keep us in the forefront of all we do,” said LORD Corp. CEO, Ed Auslander. “Our success depends on how well we continue to practice our core beliefs and ensure that we protect the ‘DNA’ of LORD. At the same time, we must challenge ourselves to evolve, take on new challenges and always move forward.”

LORD operates throughout the world to best serve its customers in their local markets.  Building on its core competencies in adhesion, vibration and motion control, LORD continues to deliver innovative solutions to the aerospace and defense, industrial, automotive, and oil and gas industries.

The company launched a timeline that showcases just how far technology has advanced during its first 90 years in business.
