CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Coatings Society’s Sink or Swim symposium will take place June 2-3, 2015. This year, the society looks to the future to bring attendees a glimpse of what may be possible in the years ahead with the theme, “Into the Future: the Next 100 Years.”

The two-day symposium will feature a keynote address by Mary Ellen Rosenberger of BaySpring Solutions, who will give a presentation titled “The Next 100 Years of Coatings: Future Demands that Impact the Globe.” Plenary speaker Peter Lucas of Air Products will give an address titled “Global Environmental Regulations Drive New Technologies in Epoxy Coatings.” Session topics will include compliance technology, coatings and additives technology, pigments and colorants, performance testing of coatings, new technology, and resin technology for industrial applications. The afternoon sessions on the first day will be two short courses: “Additives for the Coatings Industry: The What, When, Where and Why’s,” by Richard Najdusak, Laboratory Manager Advanced Organics, OMG Americas Inc., and “Resin Systems for High Performance Coatings” by Pete Schmitt of Bayer MaterialScience and Daniel Calimente of Wacker Chemical Corp.

The symposium also includes a tabletop exhibition on Tuesday afternoon, a beer and wine social on Tuesday evening, and an awards ceremony Wednesday evening.
