INDEPENDENCE, KY - Following the retirement of Executive Director Dave Lurie, the Powder Coating Institute has hired Goyer Management International (GMI) to provide complete management services of the association. Goyer Management now oversees all day-to-day activities and operations of the Powder Coating Institute.

Additionally, Goyer Management has hired, and the Powder Coating Institute Board of Directors has approved, Trena Benson as the new Executive Director of the Powder Coating Institute. Benson will manage all aspects of the Powder Coating Institute from membership recruitment and retention, to educational programming, the development and implementation of a revised strategic plan, products and services, and more.

Benson comes to GMI and the Powder Coating Institute with more than 20 years of marketing experience in the powder coating industry. She previously worked for Axalta Coating Systems, formerly DuPont Powder Coatings, where she served in marketing management for the last 10 years. She served on DuPont Powder’s leadership team where she participated in training efforts on behalf of the organization. In addition, as the Star Coater Program Administrator for 12 years, she acquired demonstrable knowledge of a membership program, meeting planning, program development, certification, and relationship building. Benson has also served on the board of the Chemical Coater’s Association International (CCAI) for nine years.
