Material Innovation: A Discussion with Consumer Product Companies
RadTech has assembled major consumer product manufacturers in a unique session to discuss how their companies prioritize, explore, vet and select new materials and technologies. Companies including Nestle, Ford, Pepsi, Procter and Gamble, 3M, Steelcase, Cleveland Steel Container and Toyota will be on hand to provide their perspectives on trends in materials and processes that are poised as key drivers of responsible, innovative manufacturing.
Over 30 presentations on UV-LED, with an emphasis on new chemistry developments, will be presented at various conference sessions, highlighting formulation and process optimization. A special session on deep UV-LED applications will cover much of the future development of the technology.
Ford and Toyota speakers have just been added to the Automotive conference session, with presentations on trends in lightweighting and UV as an enabling technology.
Food Packaging Regulations
Dr. Stephen Klump will share the latest from the Nestlé pack- aging safety and compliance program, as part of a panel discussion made up of leading ink and coating suppliers, along with a representative from Keller and Heckman.
A full day is now dedicated to presentations and a panel discussion on new materials, additives and techniques for 3D printing using UV-curable resins and light sources.
With uses including wearable sensors and patches, wound care, drug delivery, 3D printing and tissue scaffolding, RadTech 2016 offers the basics on the design and application of hydrogels in a new conference session.
Undergraduate- and Graduate-Level Short Courses
In addition to the short course on UV-C LEDs, educational offerings include an “undergrad” course for UV professionals, as well as more advanced “graduate” courses, Design of Experiments and Click Chemistry.
Students are not only invited, but will be in full force at the event, offering presentations. In addition, RadTech is sponsoring prizes for two special competitions: a RadTech Student Lab video competition; and in partnership with The Technical Association of the Graphic Arts, a poster design competition to showcase areas where UV and EB materials are used and the benefits of the technology.
