CINCINNATI — David A. Cocuzzi, who served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) from 2000-2006, has been appointed an ex-officio member of the CRRC Board and has also been elected Vice Chair of the CRRC Technical Committee. Cocuzzi brings over 45 years of coatings experience and over 20 years of experience in all aspects of reflective roofing technology, codes and standards. He also brings several decades of senior-level executive management experience to his new role.

Since 2015, Cocuzzi has concurrently held the following positions: Technical Director of the National Coil Coating Association (NCCA), Vice President of the Cincinnati-based ChemQuest Group, and consultant to the ChemQuest Technology Institute located in South Boston, Virginia.

From 1981 through 2015, David Cocuzzi held key positions at Akzo Nobel Coatings Inc., with his most recent position being Global Manager, Innovation & Sustainability, Coil and Extrusion Coatings.

In 1974, Cocuzzi launched his career by joining Sherwin-Williams Co.’s Coil Coatings, General Industrial Coatings Division as Chemist, Group Leader, a position he held through 1981.

Cocuzzi’s dedication to the advancement of materials science extends beyond NCCA and CRRC. In 1999, he served as Chair of the American Chemical Society’s Science and Engineering Division (Polymeric Materials), and the following year, he chaired ASTM’s D01.53 Committee on Coil Coated Metal, a role he held through 2005.
