MONHEIM AM RHEIN, Germany – Due to strong demand and increasing raw material costs, OQ Chemicals recently announced several price increases.

The company announced it will increase prices for 1,3 butylen glycol (1,3 BG) effective Oct. 1, 2021, or as contracts allow. In North America and Mexico, 1,3 BG industrial quality and 1,3 BG cosmetic quality will increase $0.08/lb. In Europe, they will increase by $150/mt. In the Rest of the World, they will increase by €180/mt.

Due to supply and demand, OQ Chemicals will increase prices for amines effective Oct. 1, 2021, or as contracts allow. In Europe, isopropylamine and n-octylamine will increase €150/mt; n-butylamine, di-n-butylamine and tri-n-butylamine will increase €200/mt; and 2-ethylhexylamine and di-2-ethylhexylamine will increase €100/mt. In North America and Mexico, isopropylamine and n-octylamine will increase $0.08/lb; n-butylamine, di-n-butylamine and tri-n-butylamine will increase $0.11/lb; and 2-ethylhexylamine and di-2-ethylhexylamine will increase $0.05/lb. In the Rest of the World, isopropylamine and n-octylamine will increase $180/mt; n-butylamine, di-n-butylamine and tri-n-butylamine will increase $240/mt; and 2-ethylhexylamine and di-2-ethylhexylamine will increase $120/mt.

OQ Chemicals also announced a price increase for neopentyl glycol (NPG), effective Oct. 1, 2021, or as contracts allow. NPG slurry will increase $0.05/lb in North America and Mexico, $110/mt in South America, and €90/mt in Europe. NPG molten and NPG flakes will increase $0.06/lb in North America and Mexico, $130/mt in South America, and €100/mt in Europe.

Also due to supply and demand, OQ Chemicals is increasing prices for carboxylic acids effective Oct. 1, 2021, or as contracts allow. Pelargonic acid and n-heptanoic acid will increase €85/mt in Europe, $0.05/lb in the United States, and $100/mt in the Rest of the World.
