OQ Chemicals Announces Price Increases
MONHEIM AM RHEIN, Germany – OQ Chemicals has announced several price increases, citing the rise in energy prices and increased raw material costs as the reasons for the move.
The company announced it increased prices for certain carboxylic acids effective immediately, or as contracts allow. Isononanoic acid increased by €600/mt in Europe, $0.31/lb in North American and Mexico, and $678/mt in the rest of the world. 2-Methylbutyric acid, isopentanoic acid, and n-valeric acid increased by €650/mt in Europe, $0.33/lb in North American and Mexico, and $735/mt in the rest of the world. N-Butyric acid and isobutyric acid increased by €630/mt in Europe, $0.32/lb in North American and Mexico, and $712 /mt in the rest of the world. Isovaleric acid increased by €700/mt in Europe, $0.36/lb in North American and Mexico, and $791/mt in the rest of the world. Pelargonic acid and n-heptanoic acid increased by €400/mt in Europe, $0.21/lb in North American and Mexico, and $452/mt in the rest of the world. OXLUBE L9-TMP increased by €450/mt in Europe, $0.23/lb in North American and Mexico, and $509/mt in the rest of the world.
OQ Chemicals increased prices for certain Oxo Intermediates effective Mar. 15, 2022, or as contracts allow. Isobutanol, n-butanol and n-butyraldehyde increased $0.15/lb in North American and Mexico and $330/mt in South America. Isobutyl acetate, n-butyl acetate, n-propanol, n-propyl acetate, propionaldehyde, and trimethylolpropane (TMP) increased $0.10/lb in North American and Mexico and $220/mt in South America.
OQ Chemicals increased prices for certain specialty esters and 2-ethylhexanoic acid products effective immediately or as contracts allow. OXSOFT 3G8, OXFILM 351 and 2-ethylhexanoic acid increased €700/mt in Europe, $0.35/lb in the United States, and $770/mt in the rest of the world.
The company increased prices for neopentyl glycol (NPG) products effective immediately or as contracts allow. Neopentyl Glycol (NPG) Slurry increased by €470/mt in Europe, $0.24/lb in the United States, and $530/mt in the rest of the world. Neopentyl Glycol (NPG) Molten and Neopentyl Glycol (NPG) Flakes increased by €520/mt in Europe, $0.26/lb in the United States, and $570/mt in the rest of the world.
OQ Chemicals increased prices for 1,3-butylene glycol (1,3 BG) products effective immediately or as contracts allow. 1,3 Butylene glycol (1,3 BG) industrial quality and 1,3 butylene glycol (1,3 BG) cosmetic quality increased by $0.18/lb in North America and Mexico, €350/mt in Europe, and $400/mt in the rest of the world.
The company increased prices for amines effective immediately or as contracts allow. Isopropylamine, 2-ethylhexylamine, and di-2-ethylhexylamine increased €400/mt in Europe, $0.20/lb in North America and Mexico, and $440/mt in the rest of the world. Tri-n-Butylamine, di-n-butylamine, and n-butylamine increased €500/mt in Europe, $0.25/lb in North America and Mexico, and $545/mt in the rest of the world.
OQ Chemicals increased prices for 2-ethylhexanol effective Mar. 15, 2022, or as contracts allow. In North America and Mexico, the price increased $0.15/lb. In South American, 2-ethylhexanol increased by $330/mt.
