The Integrated Oxides and Derivatives (IOD) segment of Indorama Ventures, a leader in chemical intermediates and surfactants with products in several expanding markets, has released "Innovability 2022: IOD Pathway to the Future," its 2022 sustainability progress report. The document, which can be accessed at https://iod.indoramaventures.com/storage/sustainability/innovability-2022.pdf, demonstrates how much the segment has stepped up its efforts to meet its Sustainability Strategy and comply with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

"Sustainability plays a strategic role for us, so that we can ensure the continuity of our business and leave a legacy for society. So, inspired by our purpose of 'Reimagining Chemistry Together to Create a Better World,' we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability through a 2030 strategy, with goals that will leverage our environmental, social, and governance efforts," explains Kim Knotts, Vice President of EHSQ at Indorama Ventures Integrated Oxides & Derivatives.

The strategy has three aims: to decarbonize and promote eco-efficiency in our operations; to develop more innovative and sustainable products, and to ensure that our organization is ready for the future. Each of these is supported by different goals, the achievement of which is planned via annual roadmaps. Governance for each theme is monitored by their respective strategic, tactical, and operational committees.

The strategic pillars have achieved significant results: "Organization Ready for the Future," which has benefited more than 50,000 people through social projects; "Product Portfolio," which has  conducted 72 internal product lifecycle assessments, 58 of which focused on our carbon footprint – which contributed to the decarbonization journey for clients; and "Decarbonizing and Promoting Eco-Efficiency in Our Operations," responsible for diagnosing the absolute contributions and GHG intensity of all IOD industrial plants, leading to the setting of goals for each unit in 2023.

"We are committed to develop innovative products and sustainable solutions. This journey has already begun as we focus on reducing our carbon footprint, as well as evaluating opportunities to replace fossil fuels with renewables. Our chemistry touches billions of people around the world. We are proud of how far we have come and convinced of the importance of our role in building a better world for future generations”, says Alastair Port, Executive President of Indorama Ventures Integrated Oxides & Derivatives.
