Covestro has successfully completed the digitalization of its product-specific life cycle assessments (LCA). This move is part of the company’s broader strategy to enhance transparency and sustainability.

The digitalization process will allow Covestro to provide an annual update of environmental data for approximately 50,000 finished products. The company plans to have this data available by the second half of 2025.

To ensure the accuracy and reliability of its LCA calculations, Covestro has had its methodology certified by TÜV Rheinland. The company’s LCA calculations will also be in compliance with relevant ISO standards and the Together for Sustainability (TfS) initiative.

By digitalizing its LCA process, Covestro aims to provide its customers with more detailed and up-to-date information on the environmental impact of its products. The company will also be able to more easily identify opportunities for reducing its own environmental footprint.

In addition to its focus on transparency, Covestro is also working to support the transition to a circular economy. The company is actively seeking to collaborate with its suppliers and customers to drive sustainability across the entire value chain.
