PPG is set to bring its vibrant livery to the NASCAR Cup Series and NTT INDYCAR Series in 2025. The company will be the primary sponsor for the Wood Brothers Racing No. 21 Mustang at the Brickyard 400, which will be presented by PPG. The race is scheduled to take place on July 27, with Josh Berry behind the wheel of the PPG Ford Mustang.
In addition to its NASCAR presence, PPG will also be the primary sponsor for the Team Penske No. 2 PPG Chevrolet in the NTT INDYCAR Series. The car will be driven by defending INDY 500 winner Josef Newgarden and will feature the PPG livery in seven races throughout the season.
PPG’s decision to expand its motorsports presence comes as the company looks to leverage the popularity of the NASCAR and INDYCAR Series to promote its brand. The Brickyard 400 is one of the most high-profile races on the NASCAR schedule, while the INDYCAR Series is known for its passionate fan base and exciting on-track action.
“It is an honor to have the PPG livery on the Wood Brothers’ Mustang at the Brickyard as the team celebrates its 75th anniversary,” said Bill Shaw, PPG global business director, strategic initiatives, Automotive Refinish. “It is a historic team with close ties to our long-time partners at Team Penske and we can’t wait to see what Josh does behind the wheel of the PPG car.”
PPG’s partnership with Team Penske will also see the company serve as an associate sponsor for the No. 12 Chevrolet driven by Will Power and the No. 3 Chevrolet driven by Scott McLaughlin. In the NASCAR Cup Series, PPG will be an associate sponsor for the No. 2 Ford Mustang driven by Austin Cindric, the No. 12 Ford Mustang driven by Ryan Blaney and the No. 22 Ford Mustang driven by Joey Logano.
The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season is set to kick off with the Daytona 500 on February 16, while the NTT INDYCAR Series will begin with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 2.
