PPG has announced that it will be extending its COLORFUL COMMUNITIES program for an additional 10 years, with a new end date of 2035. The program, which is focused on protecting and beautifying local communities, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary.

As part of the extension, PPG will be committing $15 million to the program. The company will also be marking the 10-year milestone with a year of celebrations, including 10 flagship Colorful Communities projects around the world in 2025. In addition, PPG and the PPG Foundation will be distributing $1 million in celebration grants to 100 previous and current Colorful Communities partners.

“The Colorful Communities program unites the power of our PPG paint products with our employee volunteers to brighten neighborhoods and make a difference for the people who call those neighborhoods home,” said Malesia Dunn, executive director, PPG Foundation and corporate global social responsibility. “Over the past decade, fresh color and paint have made life-changing impacts in the hands of our dedicated volunteers. We’re thrilled to continue bringing joy and positivity to our communities for the next 10 years.”

Since its inception in 2015, the COLORFUL COMMUNITIES program has completed nearly 600 projects in more than 50 countries. The program has impacted over 10.2 million people and has seen the use of nearly 65,000 gallons of paint. PPG has also partnered with nearly 40 customers and 2,300 volunteers from their organizations to expand the program’s impact.

In addition to its work with the COLORFUL COMMUNITIES program, PPG is also focused on its broader community engagement efforts. The company and the PPG Foundation invested more than $17.5 million in 2023 to support hundreds of organizations across nearly 40 countries.
