PPG Celebrates 10 Years of Colorful Communities With Flagship Project in France

PPG completed a Colorful Communities project at Donat Godin School in Estreux, France, as part of its 10-year program anniversary. The project is one of 10 global flagship initiatives taking place in 2025 and brought together nearly 130 volunteers to transform the school’s learning spaces for more than 150 students and staff.
The company contributed €133,000 to the effort, which included more than 200 liters of SEIGNEURIE® paints by PPG and funding for playground equipment and gardening supplies. The paints used included Pancrytex TT Bas Carbone Mat and Pantex Bas Carbone Mat low-carbon coatings, and Elyopur Mat, a formaldehyde-capturing interior paint certified with the EU Ecolabel.
Murals by artist Leona Rose featuring endangered animals were added throughout indoor common areas, while outdoor spaces were enhanced with painted playground features by SabartDeco. Additional work included restroom renovations, repainting of the motor skills room and planting a small orchard on school grounds.
“This project is part of our global celebration of 10 years of Colorful Communities,” said Maxime Linke, PPG plant manager, Saultain. “More than 30 projects have been completed in France alone, and nearly 600 worldwide since 2015, impacting over 10 million people.”
PPG recently announced a 10-year extension of the Colorful Communities program with an additional $10 million investment through 2035. As part of this milestone year, PPG and the PPG Foundation will also award $1 million in celebration grants to 100 current and former project partners worldwide.
