PPG has completed a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in partnership with Heart of America. The project focused on revitalizing the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County William E. Slaughter Club and S. Robert Levine Campus.
To mark the 10-year anniversary of the COLORFUL COMMUNITIES program, PPG brought together over 100 of its global leaders to participate in the project. The leaders worked to update the club’s computer room, recording studio, gymnasium and teen center outdoor areas. They also built new furniture and assembled 500 STEM activity kits and 40 bicycles, which were donated to local club members.
In addition to the physical updates, PPG also used its Traffic Solutions ENNIS-FLINT DECOMARK preformed thermoplastic product to install a hopscotch court and logo design outside the building.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County William E. Slaughter Club and S. Robert Levine Campus serves more than 200 club members daily, offering after-school and summer programs. The club provides programs in areas such as character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills and academic success.
PPG’s COLORFUL COMMUNITIES program was launched in 2015 and aims to bring color and brightness to neighborhoods through the use of PPG paint products and employee volunteers.
In addition to the Florida project, PPG is also planning to complete 10 flagship projects around the world as part of the 10-year celebration. The company has also committed to extending the COLORFUL COMMUNITIES program for another 10 years and will invest $15 million in the program over the next decade.
PPG’s global community engagement efforts and the PPG Foundation aim to bring color and brightness to PPG communities around the world. The company invested more than $17.5 million in 2023, supporting hundreds of organizations across nearly 40 countries.
