Revcoo Develops Cryogenic CO₂ Capture Technology to Accelerate Industrial Decarbonization

Revcoo has developed CarbonCloud, a cryogenic carbon capture system designed to reduce industrial emissions by separating CO₂ from factory flue gases. The French startup reports its patented technology is currently in pilot phase at a lime production site in Hauts-de-France, capturing 2 tonnes of CO₂ per day.
Unlike conventional chemical-solvent-based systems, CarbonCloud operates using a non-toxic, electric process that does not require water, solvents, or produce waste. The units are designed for fast deployment at industrial sites and are compatible with facilities of all sizes. The system freezes CO₂ from exhaust streams and processes it into liquid or gas form for reuse or storage.
Revcoo states that its approach is especially suited for hard-to-abate industrial emissions, such as from cement and lime production, as well as biogenic CO₂ sources like biomass boilers. The company is preparing a €20 million Series A round to fund scale-up, including a new demonstrator ten times larger than its pilot. With the ability to capture up to 100,000 tonnes of CO₂ per day per unit by 2030, Revcoo expects to reach €200 million in annual turnover that year.
