Evonik announced that its TEGO® Wet 580 Terra biosurfactant has received the Ringier Technology Innovation Award for the coatings industry. The award recognizes the product’s performance and sustainability benefits, including its 100% natural origin and biodegradability.
Produced through a fermentation process using microorganisms, TEGO Wet 580 Terra is a non-fossil-based surfactant designed to improve substrate wetting and reduce grinding time in coatings and inks. It offers very low VOC content and is well tolerated by aquatic organisms.
“We are extremely proud that our TEGO Wet 580 Terra has received this prestigious award,” said Peggy Qu, head of Evonik Coating Additives, Asia Pacific. “It highlights our leadership in sustainable innovation within the coatings industry.”
The award underscores Evonik’s broader commitment to high-performance, environmentally responsible solutions for decorative, industrial, automotive, and printing applications.
