PAINT ZERO has received a global first patent for its 100% plant-based, fossil fuel-free interior paint, marking a milestone in sustainable coating technologies. The powder-based formulation contains no VOCs, toxins or plastics, and is designed to reduce lifecycle carbon emissions by up to 90% per pack.
The mix-with-water system offers a lightweight delivery and compostable packaging, offering an alternative to traditional decorative paints while meeting rigorous climate, health and consumer safety standards.
“This patent represents more than innovation. It’s proof that as an industry we can break our reliance on fossil fuels without compromising performance, beauty or safety,” said Ross Harling, inventor of PAINT ZERO.
The technology is designed to support cleaner indoor environments and a measurable reduction in emissions, particularly in the construction sector. Highlights include:
100% plant-based ingredients
Zero VOCs or harmful toxins
Low-carbon powder format
Compostable packaging
“We’ve listened closely to the growing concerns people have about the safety and sustainability of the paints they bring into their homes,” said Clare Cunningham, creative director at PAINT ZERO. “At PAINT ZERO, we’ve created a paint that’s not only safe and sustainable, but also convenient for everyday use.”
PAINT ZERO is currently available across the UK and EU at www.paintzero.com.
