Jotun Joins Global Maritime Sustainability Effort

Jotun has joined RightShip’s Zero Harm Innovation Partners Program, a collaborative platform that promotes safer and more sustainable maritime operations. The partnership reflects Jotun’s long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation in marine coatings.
With nearly 100 years of experience in protecting vessels and marine infrastructure, Jotun contributes technical knowledge and product innovations to the program. The company’s Clean Shipping commitment focuses on reducing carbon emissions, conserving fuel, and protecting biodiversity across the global fleet.
As part of its recent initiatives, Jotun introduced HPS 2.0 (Hull Performance Solutions), which combines technical service, hull condition management, and performance guarantees with tailored coatings. SeaQuantum X200 and SeaQuantum XT use patented silyl methacrylate binder technology for long-term fouling protection, while SeaQuest Endura II is the first tin-free, biocidal fouling release coating optimized for unpredictable trade routes.
Jotun also contributes to hull performance through its Hull Skating Solutions, developed in partnership with Kongsberg Maritime. The system includes robotic hull cleaning and advanced coatings. During Nor-Shipping in June, Lloyd’s Register granted type approval for both the SeaQuantum Skate antifouling coating and the HullSkater system, making it the first integrated coating and cleaning solution certified by a classification society.
“We are proud to welcome Jotun to the Zero Harm Innovation Partners Program,” said Ajinkya Kadam, head of partnerships at RightShip. “Their technologies align with our mission to drive safer, more sustainable maritime operations.”
