Nouryon Adds Rooftop Solar at Two Sites

Nouryon has commissioned rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at its two production facilities on Jurong Island, Singapore, following a long-term power purchase agreement with EDP Renewables APAC. The systems, which represent Nouryon’s first onsite solar project in Singapore, mark a milestone in the company’s global sustainability efforts.
The 250 kWp installation will supply renewable energy to the company’s quaternary ammonium compound and alkoxylation units, reducing Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions. The project follows the signing of a 14-year solar power purchase agreement with EDP in July 2024.
“This announcement highlights another milestone in our global effort to reduce our environmental impact while supporting customers’ sustainability goals,” said Eduardo Nardinelli, senior vice president, South America and global carbon business strategy at Nouryon.
The project supports Nouryon’s climate targets, which include a 40% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 from a 2019 baseline and a goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
