Thorlabs announced that Bruno Gross has joined its executive leadership team as executive vice president of global business. In this role, he will oversee the alignment of sales, technical support, marketing and distribution functions worldwide while continuing to lead the company’s European entities in Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden and France.

Gross, who earned a Ph.D. in quantum optics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, joined Thorlabs in 2017 as general manager of Germany and has served as vice president of Europe since 2022. His prior experience includes leadership roles at McKinsey & Co., Menlo Systems GmbH and the Goethe-Institut.

“I am thrilled to have Bruno join our executive team and lead our efforts to align all customer-facing operations to meet the dynamic needs of our global customers,” said Jenn Cable, president of Thorlabs.

Gross added that the company will continue to focus on customer-centric initiatives, including fast delivery, technical support and expanded custom and OEM solutions.
