Water-Based System Bonds Rubber to Multiple Substrates

Stahl introduced RelcaDur®, a water-based rubber-to-substrate bonding system designed for automotive noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) components. The two-layer system consists of RelcaDur® 300 primer, which protects metal parts from corrosion, and RelcaDur® 600 bonding agent, which provides strong adhesion to elastomers and other substrates including steel, aluminum and plastic. Unlike traditional solvent-based bonding agents, the non-toxic formulation reduces environmental impact with low VOC content and no CMR chemicals. The system is designed for use in subframe mounts, chassis mounts, engine mounts, buffers, dampers and bushings. It is user-friendly, requiring only stirring before application.
