PPG introduced the PPG MIX’N’SHAKE™ automated stirring technology for automotive refinish shops. The patent-pending device delivers a fully homogenized, ready-to-spray mix in less than 90 seconds using an automated stirrer and an exclusive notched cup that attaches to the spray gun. Preprogrammed settings cover primers, basecoats and clearcoats. Company data indicates up to 6% more productive hours, up to 10% lower consumable waste and time savings equal to 16 working days a year for shops averaging six repairs per day. The system works with waterborne and solvent-borne formulations and integrates with the PPG LINQ™ digital ecosystem. In North America and ANZ it will be marketed as SEM Mix’n’Shake and elsewhere as PPG Mix’n’Shake.
