The National Steel Painting Contractors Association announced a leadership transition effective Jan. 1, 2026. Retiring executive director Deborah Wyandt, Esq., who has led NSPCA since 2021, will be succeeded on an interim basis by Joye Blanscett, a consultant engaged by NSPCA earlier this year.
NSPCA said it will begin a candidate search in late 2025 with the intent to appoint a permanent executive director in early 2026. During the interim, Blanscett will work with staff and board members to maintain compliance documents, support ongoing activities and develop a strategic plan.
“It has been a pleasure building relationships with industrial painting contractors across the country and working with the board of directors and IUPAT partners to grow NSPCA and its industry network,” Wyandt said. “Joye has been a valued consulting partner to NSPCA and I’m sure she will lead the organization effectively through this transition.”
“I am happy to helm NSPCA on an interim basis and lead the organization through its executive search and strategic planning process,” Blanscett said. “I plan to ensure NSPCA and its next leader have a strong foundation on which to build.”
Blanscett joined NSPCA in April 2025. She leverages backgrounds in law and labor to support NSPCA contractors, foster a relationship with the IUPAT and identify opportunities for member education, business development and advocacy. She is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the National Coordinating Committee for Multiemployer Plans, and is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist.
