Syensqo Achieves Highest CDP Climate Rating

Syensqo announced it has received an A rating for climate change from CDP, the global environmental disclosure organization, marking the company’s highest-ever score and an improvement from its A- rating in 2024.
According to the company, the rating places Syensqo on CDP’s A List, recognizing transparency and performance on climate action and positioning the company among the top 4% of organizations assessed globally. In addition to the climate score, Syensqo received an A- rating for water security, improving from a B rating in 2024.
The company said the results reflect progress tied to its One Planet roadmap, which is embedded across business operations. Syensqo stated that its water stewardship efforts include advancing site-specific water management plans at 15 locations beginning in 2026.
“Our progress in One Planet roadmap, deeply-rooted in our business operations, over the last couple of years is the direct result of the unwavering commitment to innovation and of our teams,” said Ilham Kadri, CEO of Syensqo. “Earning a CDP top rating shows the strength of the foundations we have built these past seven years since the creation of One Planet and supports our ambition to lead in sustainability while creating lasting value for our stakeholders.”
Titta Rosvall-Puplett, chief sustainability officer at Syensqo, said the A rating reflects the company’s climate action and risk mitigation efforts.
As part of its roadmap, Syensqo aims to achieve carbon neutrality in its own operations by 2040. The company reported it remains on track toward its 2030 greenhouse gas reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, including reductions in scope 1, scope 2 and selected scope 3 categories compared with a 2021 baseline.
Syensqo also stated that it has set a target to reduce freshwater withdrawal by 20% by 2030 at sites facing water scarcity risks, compared with a 2021 baseline.
This recognition highlights continued focus on sustainable strategies influencing materials development and manufacturing practices across the paint and coatings value chain.
