ACD Responds to Nomination for Homeland Security Secretary

The Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) issued a statement following the nomination of Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., to serve as secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Eric R. Byer, president and CEO of ACD, commented on the nomination and the senator’s experience working on chemical safety and regulatory issues.
“ACD welcomes the nomination of Senator Mullin to serve as the Secretary of DHS. Senator Mullin has been a steadfast supporter of the chemical distribution industry, and he understands the critical cross section of homeland security and chemicals. As the former ranking member of the Chemical Safety Subcommittee on the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, his knowledge of our industry will serve him well in this role as he looks to implement policies that keep American industries secure and competitive. We encourage the U.S. Senate to swiftly confirm his nomination.”
The Alliance for Chemical Distribution represents more than 400 member companies in the chemical distribution sector.
The organization provides industry education, advocacy and standards programs, including its Responsible Distribution initiative focused on safety, sustainability and operational performance.
