IMCD Adds New Commercial Leadership Role

IMCD announced that its Supervisory Board has nominated Andreas Igerl to serve as chief commercial officer and member of the company’s Management Board.
The proposal will be submitted for approval at the company’s Annual General Meeting scheduled for April 30, 2026.
If approved, Igerl will add commercial leadership to the Management Board while continuing to oversee the EMEA region and IMCD’s industrial business groups.
Igerl joined IMCD in 2019 and currently serves as executive committee member and president of IMCD EMEA and the Industrial Business Groups. He previously held roles as president of IMCD Asia-Pacific, managing director of IMCD China and business unit manager for advanced materials in Germany.
He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Applied Science for Economy and Management in Munich.
“Andreas is a pragmatic leader, with strong focus on execution and a collaborative style. This nomination supports IMCD’s increased focus on supplier relationships, customer centricity and commercial excellence,” said Janus Smalbraak, chair of the Supervisory Board.
Following the proposed appointment, IMCD’s Management Board would consist of three members.
IMCD, headquartered in Rotterdam, Netherlands, distributes specialty chemicals and ingredients globally and provides formulation and supply chain support to manufacturers across multiple industries.
The company reported revenue of €4,779 million in 2025 and employs more than 5,200 people worldwide.
