Planetary Dual Disperser Supports Pilot-Scale Mixing and Dispersion

Charles Ross & Son Co. introduced the PDDM-10 Planetary Dual Disperser for pilot-scale processing. The mixer combines low-speed planetary agitation with high-speed dispersion to support solids incorporation and deagglomeration in viscous formulations.
The unit processes up to 12-gallon batches and operates under vacuum up to 29.5 in. Hg to reduce air entrapment and improve product quality. Dual planetary stirrers and high-speed dispersers are independently controlled, enabling flexibility across a range of materials, including pastes, slurries and gels.
Interchangeable mix cans support heating or cooling configurations, while a sidewall scraper improves batch uniformity. The system includes a hydraulic lift, safety interlocks and touchscreen controls for process monitoring.
