The World Coatings Council marked World Paint and Coatings Week from March 23–27, 2026, highlighting the value and contributions of the global paint and coatings industry across multiple sectors.

The initiative focused on how coatings support essential industries, infrastructure, sustainability, innovation and the global economy. Throughout the week, the organization and its members shared insights into how coatings technologies contribute to durability, protection and performance in everyday applications.

During the week, PCI aligned its coverage to reflect these themes across its editorial platforms:

Day One: Coverage included a focus on essential industries, highlighting aerospace coatings and next-generation technologies designed to improve durability, corrosion resistance and performance in extreme environments.

Day Two: PCI also examined infrastructure and the built environment, including advances in binder technologies such as core-shell copolymers and hybrid composites that improve barrier properties and enable low-VOC systems in construction and industrial applications.

Day Three: Economic impact was also highlighted through PCI’s Global Top 10 rankings, which track leading paint and coatings manufacturers and provide insight into market scale, competitive positioning and global trends.

Day Four: Sustainability discussions were reflected in PCI’s Coat It! podcast, including a multi-part series examining PFAS regulations, supplier support and reformulation strategies across the industry.

Day Five: Innovation remained a central theme, with PCI’s Innovation Insights column and PCInnovations newsletter tracking emerging materials, formulation strategies and technology developments across the coatings value chain.

World Paint and Coatings Week is organized annually to raise awareness of the industry’s role in supporting modern infrastructure, advancing materials science and contributing to economic growth worldwide.
