Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited announced the appointment of Mohsin Habib Chowdhury as chief executive officer and managing director, effective Aug. 1, 2026. The decision was approved at a board meeting held April 29, according to a company release.
Mohsin Habib Chowdhury most recently served as a director of the company and chief operating officer, a role he assumed in April 2023. During his tenure, he also held leadership positions including chief sales and marketing officer and senior general manager of sales and marketing.
Chowdhury joined Berger Paints Bangladesh in 1995 after completing his MBA at the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka. Over his career, he has contributed to initiatives focused on product development, workforce training and operational practices.
The company said his leadership has been associated with the introduction of lead-free and low-VOC paint technologies, expansion into new product categories and the development of training programs for applicators. These efforts included collaboration with the National Skill Development Authority to establish the Berger Training Institute.
Chowdhury currently serves as president of the Bangladesh Paint Manufacturers Association for the 2025–2026 term, where he has been involved in industry advocacy efforts related to environmental standards and market conditions.
“Unmatched product quality, relentless innovation, and unparalleled consumer satisfaction—these are the core values that have made Berger the leading name in Bangladesh’s paint industry,” Chowdhury said.
The board expressed appreciation for his contributions and said it expects his leadership to support the company’s long-term strategy.
