PPG released its 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting progress toward the company’s 2030 sustainability targets. The report includes updates on sales from sustainably advantaged products, greenhouse gas emissions, water stewardship, supplier assessment and community investment. 

According to PPG, 43% of its 2025 sales came from sustainably advantaged products, driven by customer demand for solutions that improve productivity and provide environmental benefits. The company cited advanced powder and electrocoat technologies as examples of products that can help customers lower energy use and emissions. 

PPG also reported a 25% reduction in scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared with its 2019 baseline, along with a 5% reduction in scope 3 emissions across purchased goods and services, customer processing of sold products and end-of-life treatment. The company said it reduced water intensity by 29% at priority sites in water-stressed areas, surpassing its 2030 water stewardship target.

The report also notes that PPG assessed 100% of key suppliers against sustainability and social responsibility criteria, invested $18.1 million in communities in 2025 and committed $15 million to extend its Colorful Communities program through 2035. PPG said the report also highlights the expanded use of digital tools and AI to accelerate product development and reduce life cycle impacts.
