Freudenberg Medical Introduces Hydrophilic Coating Platform for Medical Devices
Freudenberg Medical announced the launch of LUBRITEQ™ earlier this year, a hydrophilic coating platform and associated development and manufacturing services for medical-device applications.
The company said LUBRITEQ is a UV-curable, single-step coating designed for polymer and metal substrates. Freudenberg Medical said the coating can be customized for individual device requirements and is intended to provide lubricity, durability, coating uniformity and low particulate levels.
The launch pairs the coating with services spanning early feasibility work through commercial production. Freudenberg Medical said those services include an initial feasibility turnaround of about two weeks, coating-customization programs, flexible manufacturing options, process transfer and contract-coating support through its global site network.
Freudenberg Medical said its commercial model does not include royalties, fixed or annual fees, or regulatory file-access fees.
The company said the platform is available globally across its vertically integrated operations. Freudenberg Medical serves as a contract design and manufacturing partner to medical-device and biopharma companies.
