Induron Modernizes Its Solvent Storage System
Induron Protective Coatings completed an upgrade of its solvent tank farm at its Birmingham operation.
The project replaced nine vertical tanks and one horizontal tank that had been in service for nearly 50 years. The new configuration includes three double-compartment horizontal tanks.
Induron said evolving environmental requirements and changes in its manufacturing processes had reduced the quantity and variety of solvents used at the site, leaving much of the previous capacity unused.
The company said the updated storage system improves safety, environmental responsibility and operating efficiency while better aligning with current production needs.
