Heirloom Traditions Paint has used Fulfillment by Amazon to expand nationwide distribution of its direct-to-consumer paint products from its rural Kentucky base.
The company began working with Amazon’s fulfillment network after facing shipping challenges associated with selling heavy, liquid products from Taylorsville, about 30 miles from the nearest interstate. Fulfillment by Amazon manages storage, picking, packing and shipping after products enter its network.
According to Amazon, Heirloom Traditions Paint’s sales grew to $4 million in its first year using Fulfillment by Amazon and reached $10 million the following year. The company expanded from a small product lineup to hundreds of products available to customers nationwide.
Amazon reported that Heirloom Traditions and its related businesses generated approximately $30 million in annual revenue at the time of the profile. The growth supported a $7 million investment in manufacturing facilities and a 30,000-square-foot warehouse with attached retail space in Taylorsville, helping sustain 53 local jobs.
Heirloom Traditions Paint sells consumer-focused paints, finishes and project products, including its ALL-IN-ONE Paint® line, through its website and online marketplaces.
