IMCD Plans Thailand Acquisition to Expand Additives Offering
IMCD has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Merit Solution Co., Ltd., a Thailand-based distributor of additives for the plastics and compounding industry.
Merit Solution serves applications including plastics, construction and adhesives. The company operates from offices and a laboratory in Bangkok and employs 24 people. It generated approximately THB 406 million, or €10.7 million, in revenue in 2025.
The acquisition is intended to strengthen IMCD’s advanced materials and compounding offering in Thailand and Southeast Asia by adding Merit Solution’s plastic additives expertise to IMCD’s existing portfolio.
“The acquisition will strengthen IMCD’s position as a comprehensive solution provider for the plastics and compounding market in Thailand and Southeast Asia,” said Pichit Pornthanalert, managing director of IMCD Thailand. “We are excited to gain scale, welcome a talented team and deepen our supplier and customer relationships.”
Merit Solution’s management team said the combination will broaden the product range and local support available to compounders and converters seeking to improve product performance, processing efficiency and durability.
The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026.
