Sherwin-Williams Marks 160 Years With Shanghai Celebration

The Sherwin-Williams Co. marked its 160th anniversary during an event in Shanghai, China, recognizing both the company’s history and nearly 100 years of operations in China.
The June 23 event brought together Sherwin-Williams employees, customers, suppliers and representatives from business, government and industry organizations. The company’s Asia regional headquarters is located in Shanghai, and Sherwin-Williams said it has operated in the region since 1930.
“Since our founding in 1866, Sherwin-Williams has remained committed to innovation-driven growth,” said Heidi G. Petz, chair, president and CEO of Sherwin-Williams. “Our 160-year journey is a testament to how innovative coating solutions have continually advanced industry progress.”
The event included an exhibition highlighting Sherwin-Williams coatings technologies and applications across industrial manufacturing, new energy, transportation, construction, furniture and packaging markets.
Sherwin-Williams also illuminated Shanghai’s Citigroup Tower with a 160th-anniversary display as part of the celebration.
Petz said the company plans to continue combining its global capabilities with regional market knowledge as it supports customers across China and Asia.
