New Aluminum Pigment Cuts Solvent and Handling Steps
ECKART has introduced VERSALAN, a flake-shaped aluminum pigment preparation designed for direct dispersion in water without pre-wetting or solvent premixing. The free-flowing, dust-free powder can be added at any stage of production, helping reduce processing steps and support precise adjustment of color and metallic effects.
Based on high-purity aluminum pigments with an inorganic silicon dioxide coating, VERSALAN contains less than 5% VOCs and is not classified as dangerous goods. The product is available in multiple particle sizes to create effects ranging from intense sparkle to structureless metallic finishes.
VERSALAN is suitable for waterborne and solventborne coatings, UV-curable and 100% solids systems, plastics, automotive OEM and refinish coatings, and industrial coatings. It is positioned as the successor to ECKART’s HYDROLAN BG and PG grades.
