Founded in 1905, Farrell-Calhoun is a family-owned manufacturer of architectural and industrial-maintenance paints and coatings. The Memphis-based company produces primers, interior and exterior paints, metal finishes and specialty coatings for professional contractors, facility managers, industrial customers and retail consumers. Its manufacturing, corporate office, laboratory, warehouse and Memphis store are located on East Carolina Avenue.
Farrell-Calhoun’s products are distributed through company-owned stores and independent dealers across the Southeast and Mid-South. The company’s current footprint spans 18 states, with stores and dealers serving markets from Alabama and Arkansas to Texas and Virginia.
Farrell-Calhoun reported 2025 coatings sales of $60,015,161.
Notes: In February, Farrell-Calhoun opened a new company store in Huntsville, Alabama.
In March, Farrell-Calhoun opened a store in Killeen, Texas.
Also in March, Farrell-Calhoun marked its 120th anniversary during its 2025 National Sales Meeting and awards dinner.
In November, Farrell-Calhoun named Wanderlust R099, a soft blue-gray, its 2026 Color of the Year. The supporting palette included Zea Flour R009, Soft Sea Glass R062, Hypnotic R118, Tumbled Travertine R033 and Chickpea Please R128.
