APV Engineered Coatings reported 2025 coatings sales of nearly $40 million while continuing to serve demanding industrial and architectural applications.
Founded in 1878, APV Engineered Coatings develops and manufactures advanced coatings and chemical products for diverse industrial markets. The company originally produced wood varnishes and enamels, most notably a unique and faster-drying black enamel for the Ford Motor Co.’s Model T.
Today, APV provides coating solutions for some of the world’s top-producing manufacturers, with distribution in 26 countries. APV specializes in research and development, formulation and contract manufacturing of high-performance water- and solvent-based technologies under private label. Its coatings are designed for demanding applications in aerospace, industrial fabrics, textiles, building products and rubber goods.

As a licensed user of Arkema’s Kynar® emulsion technology, APV has more than a decade of experience commercializing PVDF-based systems for both field- and factory-applied use. Key brands include NeverFade®, VYNGUARD®, Walkway™, AEROPRITE™, BLOCKSEAL® and Kapguard®.
Notes: In September, APV’s NeverFade® Exterior Paints were used in a façade restoration at The Carlyle condominium in San Antonio. The work included refinishing aluminum trim on 1,000 windows, 140 sets of sliding doors and 500 balcony panels as part of a broader project addressing water intrusion and weathering.
