Florida Paints Puts $114,000 Behind Central Florida Housing Project
Florida Paints has donated $114,000 to Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka to provide paint and coatings for Legacy Square, a new affordable housing community in Sanford, Florida.
The $7.2 million development will include 19 energy-efficient homes for qualifying Central Florida families. The project is designed to transform underused land while helping address the region’s need for attainable housing.
“At Florida Paints, we’re proud to support projects that create lasting impact in the communities we serve,” said Mike Davis, executive vice president of Florida Paints. “A home provides stability, opportunity and a foundation for families to build their future.”
The partnership was recognized during a June 17 wall-raising ceremony attended by representatives from Florida Paints, Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka and other community partners.
Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka has built more than 260 homes since 1991. Legacy Square brings together public, private and nonprofit organizations to create additional pathways to affordable homeownership.
Florida Paints supports nonprofit organizations, housing projects and neighborhood revitalization initiatives through its Paint a Brighter Day program. The company said it has donated approximately 8,000 gallons of paint through the program to date.
