BASF’s Supervisory Board extended the appointments of Katja Scharpwinkel and Anup Kothari as members of the company’s Board of Executive Directors through the end of its 2030 annual shareholders’ meeting.
Scharpwinkel, 56, joined the board in 2024. She serves as BASF’s industrial relations director and site director for the company’s Ludwigshafen site, its largest Verbund production complex. Her responsibilities include European Site & Verbund Management, Global Engineering Services and Corporate Environmental Protection, Health, Safety & Quality.
Kothari, 58, also joined the board in 2024. He serves as chairman of BASF Corp. in the United States and oversees the company’s Industrial Solutions and Surface Technologies segments.
The board of director extensions provide leadership continuity across Surface Technologies, BASF’s largest integrated production site and its global engineering functions.
