ALTANA Earns EcoVadis Gold Medal With 85-Point Score
ALTANA received an EcoVadis Gold Medal after earning 85 of 100 points in the sustainability assessment, its highest score to date and a one-point improvement from the previous year.
Under the current EcoVadis criteria, the result places ALTANA and its BYK, ECKART, ELANTAS and ACTEGA divisions within the top 5% of companies evaluated across all industries. EcoVadis assesses companies in four categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
ALTANA said it is working to reduce its carbon footprint and achieve net-zero emissions globally by 2050. The company also cited products supporting packaging recycling, battery production and wind-energy equipment as examples of its sustainability-related work.
Because ALTANA’s portfolio includes additives, effect pigments, specialty coatings and measuring instruments, the assessment covers businesses supplying multiple parts of the coatings value chain.
