The Powder Coating Institute awarded $30,000 through its 2026 Student Scholarship Program to seven students preparing for careers connected to powder coating.
Recipients were Nelson Gomez, Rasmussen College; Owen Beumler, University of Oregon; Braylon Welch, Kettering University; Tyler Black and Wyatt Ellingson, University of Georgia; Sudeep Louis, North Dakota State University; and Kali Kisor, Colorado School of Mines.
The Powder Coating Institute also introduced a Custom Coater Scholarship providing complimentary registration to a PC 101 or PC 202 training event. Recipients were Garett Cowan of All-Color Powder Coating, Taylor Kasha of Trigger Industries, Wesley Parsons of Rush Powder Coatings and Dillon Persaud of Parabit Systems.
The student program was supported by Gema USA, IFS Coatings, Nordson, TCI Powder Coatings, Sun Polymers and Therma-Tron-X.
The scholarships support two workforce-development paths in powder coating: students entering related fields and current custom coaters pursuing additional technical training.
