Tioxide Adds 60 Roles as Greatham TiO₂ Restart Nears
Tioxide launched a second phase of recruitment as it moves toward restarting titanium dioxide pigment manufacturing at its Greatham facility in Hartlepool, U.K.
The company has recruited more than 60 employees during its first 12 weeks of operation, filling most of the 70 positions announced after LB Group acquired the Greatham site and associated TiO₂ pigment assets. Tioxide’s workforce now exceeds 200 employees.
Recruitment has included production, engineering and technical specialists supporting the Greatham manufacturing operation, along with additions at Tioxide’s Wynyard research and development center and Stockton-on-Tees headquarters.
The second recruitment phase will create approximately 60 additional positions as Tioxide prepares to bring a second production line into operation. The expansion brings the total number of positions announced since April to approximately 130.
Managing Director Karen Askwith said the company is progressing through commissioning and remains focused on a safe restart. Subject to successful completion of key commissioning milestones, Tioxide expects single-stream production to resume during August.
Tioxide is a wholly owned subsidiary of LB Group and produces TiO₂ pigments for coatings, plastics, inks and other applications.
